About the Training
Whether you sit on a working board of a non-profit with all volunteers or a governing board of an agency with professional staff, as a director you play an important role. The board of directors provides fiscal and legal oversight, sets goals and strategic direction, and ensures the overall health and well-being of an organization. According to the Hawai‘i Revised Statues, a board member must meet certain standards of conduct carrying out responsibilities to your corporation, usually described as the duties of care, loyalty, and obedience. Walk away with some practical tools that you can immediately put to use to become more effective individually and collectively on the leadership team of your non-profit board.
